Female Fertility Screening

Set of diagnostic tests and assessments designed to evaluate a woman’s reproductive health. One of the cornerstone tests included in this screening is the Anti-Müllerian Hormone (AMH) test, which measures the level of AMH in the blood to determine a woman’s ovarian reserve—the estimated number of remaining eggs in the ovaries.

However, our screening service goes beyond just one test. At Thomson Fertility, we believe in a holistic and personalised approach.

That’s why our Female Fertility Screening typically includes:

  • AMH Blood Test – to assess ovarian reserve
  • Pelvic Ultrasound Scan – to examine the uterus and ovaries
  • Antral Follicle Count (AFC) – to count the visible follicles in the ovaries
  • Hormone Panel – including FSH, LH, Estradiol, and TSH to evaluate hormonal balance
  • Menstrual and Medical History Review
  • Consultation with a Fertility Specialist

This combination of diagnostic tools allows our specialists to gain a clear and detailed understanding of your fertility profile.

Fertility Screening

Fertility screening is suitable for all women of reproductive age, especially if you:

  • Are planning to conceive soon or in the near future
  • Are over 30 and want to understand your fertility status
  • Have irregular or absent menstrual cycles
  • Have a family history of early menopause or fertility issues
  • Have been trying to conceive for 6–12 months without success
  • Are considering fertility preservation (egg freezing)
  • Simply want peace of mind about your reproductive health

Understanding your fertility status early gives you the advantage of time and better control over your options.

The AMH Test

The AMH test is a simple blood test that offers powerful insights. AMH is a hormone secreted by cells in the ovarian follicles, and its level in your blood correlates with the number of eggs you have. A higher AMH level generally indicates a better ovarian reserve, while a lower level may suggest a reduced egg count.

It’s important to note that while AMH gives a snapshot of quantity, it does not measure egg quality—which is also influenced by age and lifestyle. That’s why we always combine AMH results with other diagnostic information for a well-rounded view.

Understanding Your Fertility Test Results

Once your results are ready, our fertility specialists will sit down with you to explain what they mean in practical terms. Whether your results indicate normal fertility or highlight potential challenges

We are here to support you with:

  • Lifestyle and dietary recommendations to optimise reproductive health
  • Options for fertility preservation (egg freezing) if you’re planning to delay pregnancy
  • Tailored treatment plans for those seeking fertility support, such as IUI, IVF, or hormone therapy
