A Gentler Approach
to IVF With Fewer Medications
Minimal Stimulation IVF — also called Mini IVF or Gentle IVF — is a lower-risk, less invasive alternative to conventional IVF. It uses reduced doses of fertility medications (or sometimes just oral tablets) to stimulate the ovaries to produce a smaller number of eggs.

How Mini IVF Works
The Mini IVF process is similar to conventional IVF, but with lighter stimulation:
Because the ovaries are less stimulated, the number of eggs collected each cycle is usually lower than with conventional IVF.
Minimal Stimulation IVF

- Women who cannot tolerate strong fertility medications
- Patients with a history of ovarian hyperstimulation
- Couples seeking a gentler, less medication-intensive fertility option

- Lower medication use – Fewer injections, lower hormone exposure, and reduced risk of side effects.
- Reduced risk of OHSS – Especially important for women who have experienced ovarian hyperstimulation in past treatments.
- Less invasive – A gentler alternative for women sensitive to medications or injections.

- Fewer eggs retrieved – Each cycle typically produces fewer mature eggs than conventional IVF.
- Possible need for multiple cycles – More treatment cycles may be required to achieve pregnancy.
- No proven egg quality advantage – Research has not shown that eggs retrieved through Mini IVF are of better quality compared to standard IVF.

Is Mini IVF
Right for You?
Mini IVF offers a safe, lower-stimulation pathway for couples who cannot undergo conventional IVF or who wish to explore a less invasive alternative.
However, it may not be suitable for everyone — particularly couples seeking higher egg yields per cycle.
